AME’s Classified Plant Inspectors are highly experienced and competent in conducting statutory inspections of all your classified plant. Our Classified Plant Inspectors are also available for your ‘duty of care’ non-statutory inspections and free up your resources and manpower to be used on other priority activities.
AME’s inspectors have intimate knowledge of the applicable Australian Standards and Regulations applying to Classified Plant Management.
In Western Australia state legislation pertaining to Classified Plant operating on mine sites is covered by:
Mines Safety and Inspection Act 1994 (MSIA – 1994)
The Act covers legislation of operating procedures and rules applicable to all mining operations in WA. This is administered by the Department of Mines and Petroleum (DMP) Resources Safety Division.
Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations 1995 (MSIR – 1995)
The Regulations spell-out details of statutory requirements for all mines operating in WA. The Rules for Classified Plant on mine sites are detailed in Part 6, Division 3, of these Regulations.
Plant Inspection Process
Once approved and setup, AME will provide your company access to the electronic database, which is accessible online 24/7. A comprehensive list of all the Classified Plant will be uploaded into the CPMS with all five applicable folders included. It is important for any corresponding documentation to be submitted to AME at this stage. Any Pressure Relief Valve information obtained will be updated into a PRV register to allow for the management of the re-certification of such valves.
All missing documents will be sourced from the original equipment manufacturer (OEM). AME are able to obtain Manufacturer’s Data Reports, Hydrostatic Test Reports, Evidence of Plant Design Registration and the like from a majority of the common suppliers with whom we are currently dealing with. All testing can be NATA certified.
At the end of each month, AME can send through an updated report containing a ‘hit list’ of pending Statutory or Duty of Care Inspections due within the following two months, in order to allow enough time to arrange the Inspections. Within this part of the Scope of Work, AME can assist your company with any WorkSafe WA or Department of Mines and Petroleum (DMP) registrations and other requirements.
AME will ensure that all Plant and Equipment Inspections are managed in a timely fashion, with inspectors made available for regular site visits, or for whenever they are required.
